Bloody ebay

If someone was dishonest & sent you a rude email then decided to withhold feedback would your first response be to leave her *positive* feedback?????

Someone tell my husband to be less nice.

Grrrrrrrr

  1. Oh ffs that was quick!!

OK - someone bought a boden top from us on ebay for a grand total of 2.29 including postage. We checked every item for stains and this one DID NOT HAVE ANY. However someone is claiming that she received the item stained and is withholding feedback.

    Her message:
Hell, Thank you for message, I did receive the girl’s top but was a little disappointed to find that it had stains down the front. I did manage to get them out with stain removing soap, and my daughter has taken it on holiday for my grandaughter to wear. However I feel that the stains should have been removed before sale or at least they should have been mentioned in the item description. As the stains did come out I decided not to give you any Feedback rather than leave Negative.

    I replied:
I’m very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the top. I sold a batch of items and I checked them all very carefully for stains and described them in the item descriptions. I must have either missed this stain or it got on the garment after I had checked it. For this I can only apologise and I hope you don’t consider it £2.29 poorly spent. As a matter of interest, how big and how noticeable was the stain as I am concerned that I missed it and wouldn’t want to do the same thing again. I appreciate your comment regarding feedback. I will however give you positive feedback for your promptness in payment.

Now I suppose I should have replied “Fuck you, you stupid lying cow - stick your feedback up your arse” and held back on the feedback. Although with hindsight I think I should have replied like I did but withheld the feedback - I’ve got no bargaining chip if she decides to leave negative feedback now.

    Bollox.

  2. I didn’t say you should have replied rudely - I don’t think you should have lfet her feedback.

  3. I haven’t read any of the above but I think Simon is right.

  4. No bargaining chip I guess, but if you hadn’t left her feedback she might have taken offence at that. Depends what feedback you wrote - something terse like “Prompt payment.” would be ok.

I would have also added in the email something along the lines of “shame you didn’t take a photo of it” or suggest she returns the item if she’s not happy.

  5. That’s what I said - we’ve got photos with no stains & it obviously didn’t stop her wanting to keep it.
