Guessed one though ;)
Jasper’s been aslep for two and a half hours that’s the longest he has ever slept during the day (I’ve checked on him twice) *shock*

Today I painted a brain! I labelled it to say what bits are in charge of different things, we made the brain out of plaster of paris.
We were going to get my new glasses but we didn’t have enough time so we will go tomorrow. Mummy made pancakes for breakfast with chocolate spread & they were the best!
Other things I’ve done today - I played in the garden, I was trying to cook chives in the watering can with hot water*. My city burnt down in Pharoah because I didn’t have enough fire stations - I was obsessed with making more food & I forgot fire stations, oops! We read the whole of Fantastic Mr Fox, it was very funny, except for the pot-bellied dwarf farmer who put goose liver spread in doughnuts, that made me feel sick - yuck!
Maths was easy & boring, Latin was fun but Mummy kept reading the same thing over and over again - I wrote sentences describing my friends in latin - Violetia callida est! I finished the Ballet Magic on the Stage book it was a little bit good but a little bit boring.
Later I’m going swimming with Daddy & Jasper, I’ll have a play swim & I might go in the diving pool and I’m going to jump off the middle board in a tuck jump. My swimming teacher is very nice, some of the children think I’m lying about not going to school & tease me, I’m going to tell those children that I’ll tell the teacher to tell them I’m not lying. Most of the children are quite nice though. My friend in the class has long black hair and has a pink flowery swimsuit. Sometimes I’m jealous of her because she has such long hair, Mummy cut my hair (angry face).
Layla - *first heard of that
We also read about Martin Luther King Jr & Claudia added him to her biography book (she wants to fine out more about the underground railroad so I must look next time we’re at the library), did some English (verbs), some stuff with magnets (she’s planning to make a solenoid) & done some piano. I’m trying to teach her to tie shoe laces (she did pretty well) and they watched Totoro which IMO is the best children film ever, I love it
Since I’m pretty crap at blogging what we’ve actually done & Claudia wants a blog I’m letting her take over for a while. So this is from Claudia.
Good things today:
- scooting & skateboard moves
- going to the park
- having a HappyMeal
- walking around town
- getting new shoes - Converse woohoo!!!!
- playing with Jasper in the shoe shop
- buying an elctronics kit*
- Daddy teaching me how to solder
- watching Totoro
Bad things
- Mummy shouting at me & taking my scooter away**
- burning myself soldering***
(me again - * an infrared pulse monitor, same principle as a pulse oximeter - we’ve been doing lots of anatomy/physiology recently & it is very cool, ** for yet more crazy & dangerous road antics, *** not badly but she was a bit shocked)
Things I wish I hadn’t had to discuss with Claudia - a man who had sex with a dead woman, a man who killed five women, a woman who drowned her baby. She was very upset about the baby, I’m pretty good at turning the radio off when something nasty comes on but she was in the car with Si & I don’t think he was quick enough.
And I lost Jasper today - in Specsavers - I plonked him down (I did actually check the door was close first), turned to direct Claudia to the mirror, realised that it was very quiet i.e. Jasper wasn’t yelling & saw him out of the window striding off down Friar Street with a handful of glasses. I can’t believe how quickly it happened, just seconds, the door was closed again so he must have sneaked out when someone else came in. I’m rather glad he didn’t get run over.
Still apart from that it’s been an okay week.
Here’s one I dyed earlier!
Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Baby Surprise Jacket. Everyone should knit one it is so cool! Knitted in one peice and then folded to make a jacket, clever!
(and I know I said I wouldn’t cast on anything else but the Juno Regina is so boring
)
Koolhaas, by the brilliant Brooklyntweed. It is a fiendish pattern, so bloody fiddly with all the tiny cables and as I knitted it was cursed many times. As soon as a put the needles down though I remembered why I love it & am knitting J one in DK, even more fiddly
Si’s is in Cascade 220.
Jasper’s coat of many colours! Another Tomten in Noro Silver Thaw (5) with a cashmerino hood lining. This time I used buttons with crochet loops rather than a zip (easier for me to get on, harder for J to take off). I’m really pleased with the hood lining, EZ says to knit it separately then sew it in - I picked up & knitted it in situ, so no seams! As with the other one it has a few short rows across the back so it fits over a nappied bum nicely
