We survived!

Thanks for the b-day wishes & cards :)

C had a good day (I think), obviously no party but she had chocolate cake & an MP3 player & princess dresses and The Simpsons. Simon took C & J to the park this afternoon while I finished decorating her cake. I didn’t managed to get a nap which I need, I haven’t been v. good at taking the ferrous sulphate & am feeling rather wobbly - had a crazy day yesterday which didn’t help.

Tomorrow I am going to attempt town, ERAPA & Girls’ Brigade, I’m not looking forward to it tbh I’m so tired I’ve lost the ability to communicate coherently. I have a feeling I’m going to spend the weekend in bed.

Monday again (again)

Filed under: Today today, Round-up, Eat cake - Administrator @ 4:34 pm

Thursday was a bit of a wash out - C did some work in the morning (lots of reading all of a sudden) I made some bread (resurrected the bread machine) then we fought the traffic across town to football. We were coach-less though :( - C had a run around with the other kids, but we left fairly early, I’m so knackered and the screeching was a bit too much. Did some shopping in the afternoon.

I had a terrible night on Thursday & ended up calling Simon home from work on Friday morning (first time this pregnancy which is pretty good going I think ;) ) I slept for a couple of hours while S & C did stuff (not sure what). Then we spent the afternoon doing chores - getting the last few baby bits, prescriptions, bits for me & a major Tesco shop. We didn’t go to ERAPA but C went to GB in the evening.

Saturday - Simon worked in the morning (painting mainly) and C spent ages on Brainpop. In the afternoon we picked Gwenny up & took the girls to a GB activity day. They enjoyed most of it but swimming wasn’t well organised & C ended up hysterical & G bored. We snuck off early to get the girls some food & dropped G at home (saw the beautiful harvest moon & some lovely fireworks on the way). C was asleep almost before we were home.

After another fairly sleepless night Sunday started early when I dragged everyone out of bed ‘to be productive’ . C did all her puzzles & Brainpop, I did loads of cooking and Simon did some odd jobs then built a fire surround for our sitting room. In the afternoon we dropped C at my parents - she made bread picked apples & made apple pies and planted a load of bulbs so I think she had fun :)

Simon has just taken C swimming but apart from that we haven’t done much today - some cleaning, C did some maths, Brainpopped & made a Moby puppet :) . I did some more cooking. My mum came around with more baby stuff .

I have pre-op clerking at the hospital tomorrow.

Chocolate

Filed under: Round-up, Eat cake - Administrator @ 6:40 am

I got Claudia back at lunch time on Wednesday & oh God, was I exhausted. Mum helped with a few jobs around the house while the kids played, then we went into town (via the swimming pool to pay for L’s diving lessons) with a fairly hefty shopping list (but I managed to spend only £1.56). Claudia & I had a very early night & Simon was working late so we didn’t see much of him.

Yesterday I gritted my teeth & went to the local HE football group - C had a brilliant time & it was fairly unstressful, it felt good to be doing something again. Another local mother offered to help out with Claudie after the baby is born & I think I’ll end up taking her up on the offer. We read ballet stories in the afternoon, C did some drawing, then I attempted another early night.

Today we’re going to be cooking for the weekend - lots of chocolate ;)

I’m watching this with interest.
